A quick reminder for anyone up for Magic Circle this week- you still have time to book an online place in Friday’s (tomorrow) workshop. A great way to get the benefits of a studio session at home! Book your ticket via the link in my bio. Moving on from my message about the sequence last week, and how each exercise in the sequence prepares the body for the next, I wanted to touch on how this works. The Pilates sequence prepares the body for the next exercise by ensuring that each movement flows seamlessly into the next, targeting different muscle groups and allowing for proper muscle activation and recovery. This specific order not only enhances the effectiveness of each exercise but also minimises the risk of injury. But how does this happen? Each exercise prepares you internally for the next through control, precision and breath. Practising and perfecting each exercise will allow you to progress properly. To rush ahead and mimic the exercises, is to lack the proper understanding of all the parts required to fully develop an exercise and for that to be a strong foundation for the next. It’s a process that I invite you to make space and time for, that will serve you in every other physical activity in your life, from walking to marathon running.#thePilatesStudioEdinburgh #mindfulmovement #breath #sequence #development #rehabilitation #strengthening #classicalpilates #romanaspilates #romanaspilatesinternational #romanaspilatesteacher #edinburgh #tribeporty #onlinepilates #studiopilates #inperson #movewithjoy #movebetter ... Understanding Diastasis Recti and PilatesDiastasis recti is the partial or complete separation of the rectus abdominis muscles along the midline of the abdomen (as pictured here), often occurring postpartum. Pilates focuses on rebuilding the core from the inside out, targeting the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor muscles, which are essential for closing the gap and restoring functional core strength.#ThePilatesStudioEdinburgh #preandpostnatal #prenatal #postnatal #postnatalpilates #rehab #pregnancy #diastasisrecti #PrivatePilates #studiopilates #SemiPrivateEdinburgh Birth and Baby ...
